pure sine wave inverter

This 12V inverter with built-in transfer switch changes DC output from your RV batteries into AC power and sends it to the electrical system. Using pure sine wave technology, it creates clean power with low distortion, making it safe, efficient, and perfect for sensitive electronics like computers. The inverter can generate 2,650 starting watts and 1,500 running watts which is a great fit for appliances and electronics. Additionally, with the integrated transfer switch, it will automatically change from inverter to shore power when available.

Functions and Features

outlets and terminals on inverter

The inverter includes hardwired input and output terminals for AC loads, positive and negative DC input terminals that connect to your batteries, and a port for a fixed-mount remote (sold separately). It has a function switch that lets you select different output voltages (100V, 110V, 115V, and 120V) and frequencies (50Hz and 60Hz). This switch can also turn the power saver on and off. Additionally, the power saving adjustment dial near the function switch sets the input and wake up thresholds for the power saver.

The system includes a number of safety features. It offers protection from over/under voltage, overloading, and overcurrent. The inverter also uses a heat sink process to protect from extreme temperatures, and an internal cooling fan removes excess heat from the unit.

fuse block

For additional safety, installing a fuse between the battery bank and the inverter will protect your equipment from power surges. The Go Power 200-amp fuse block (sold separately) works with this unit and uses a slow blow time-delay feature to withstand surge current. This means it can handle short surges over 200 amps without blowing the fuse, which is great for devices with motors that require more energy to start.

Built-In Transfer Switch Automatically Switches to Shore Power

The integrated transfer switch selects the primary source of AC current. The switch inside of this inverter has been pre-wired to automatically change from inverter to shore power to conserve battery life. This switch includes a 20-amp leg rated at 120V. To prevent electrical interruptions, the time delay circuit board allows the alternate power source to stabilize before a transfer occurs. Additionally, since the switch only accepts one active source, it protects your electrical system from dangerous backfeed that can damage your equipment.

How It Installs

The inverter mounts inside your RV in a dry location with ventilation. It should be installed in close proximity to the battery bank, but not in the same compartment. The DC terminals are wired to the battery bank. There are several ways to connect the inverter to your RV's electrical system, but this will depend on your rig and how you want to use your inverter.

Available Fixed-Mount Remote Provide Easy Monitoring and Control

GP-SWR-A inverter remote

The Go Power GP-SWR-A Inverter Remote (sold separately) lets you turn your inverter on and off from inside your RV. It also has a LED which indicates the inverter's status.

I am always amazed at how well the team and eTrailer service customers. The communication from product purchase to delivery is exceptional. Price/value of products is highly appreciated as well. I always save time and money when going to eTrailer to find parts for my Lance 2445 Trailer.

by:

Great price and very fast shipping. Best place for all your trailer needs

by:

We are currently working on hooking up the inverter we ordered from etrailer for the maiden voyage in our new trailer. It appeared these items would not be arriving before we left, but after a quick phone call to etrailer and a conversation with Steve Z. in customer service our inverter was on it's way by 10:00 am that morning. It did indeed arrive in 2 days giving us time to hook this up. We were thrilled as we wanted to put this trailer to work off the grid. Great service. Thank you so much.

by:

Delivery was right on time, I have yet to install.

One year + later, this inverter is great! I have it connected to two battleborn lithium batteries. We can run our TV although we don’t much, our Microware, or our coffee Kirin machine - of course not all at once. The fan is a bit noisy but it only fires up when drawing heavy from the inverter. Love it and recommend it.

by:

Good advice to help decide which inverter is right for us. Really fast shipping and delivery.

by:

Works great, the unit is powering a work shed in the backyard. The Inverter is paired up with 400w of solar and two battleborn 100a batteries. The unit replaced a 3000w inverter from another company that fried twice within a year.

by:

This product is reliable and works well to the stated 400 watts when the load is steady. I like that this unit works well with my 29.4V DC battery pack (7S). Past 250 watts, even small surges will trip the unit off. At around 250 watts(steady) my quart compressor cooler will kill AC power out when it kicks on. It appears that the 600 watt surge rating is inaccurate.

by:

I have this installed and the included remote does not work as described in the instructions. When not connected to shore power the remote shows the charger function on yet the instructions say this is not an option.

Also, I changed the power saver mode to 15 minutes from the default off. I didn’t see a change in the remote output after several hours.

Less than 10 days after I ordered this etrailer dropped the price $XXX.XX. That’s not insignificant and they wouldn’t do anything for me about it.

by:

I replaced my magnum that went out due to a wiring issue. It was easy to replace for the most part although the wire to the controll panel was 6 wire and the old one was 4. It works very well. All I lost was the self start of the old one. Very good product.

by:

Inverter failed around the one year mark with light use. 1 star for that but 3 stars overall because of GoPowers customer service who provided a replacement without trouble.

by:

Installed last year in a horse trailer with living quarters. Using with a pair of Dakota lithium batteries. Works great. Powers Microwave with ease. love the ability to pull from battery while also using generator; i can run both microwave and coffee maker together like this.

Points of note:
1) When inverter is turned on there is a quiet weird chirp occasionally. If you're a light sleeper sensitive to sounds, be prepared for a "what is that?" if it is installed in the LQ area.
2) If batteries are full and i plug in my Furman generator (Costco purchased from Costco), the generator gets tripped in to overload when float charging is enabled. Not an issue when charging batteries.

by:

Product works designed. It was professionally installed along with instant hot water and 4 vmax tanks.

by:

Perfect to charge phones, computers, and other electronic items with off grid. And use my CPAP.

by:

etrailer always does great!

  • Recommended Replacement For A Magnum Energy MM1212 Inverter Charger
The closest Go Power option to the Magnum Energy MM1212 Inverter Charger is the Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter Charger # 34280055. This inverter/charger is rated for 2000 watts running and 4,000 watts surge/startup. This equals out to about 17 amps continuous and up to 35 amps surge. The charger side of this unit will pull 15 amps AC and output up to 100 amps DC. This unit is Pure Sine Wave, making it safe for sensitive electronics unlike the Modified Sine Wave of the Magnum...

  • How Many AC Inputs Does Go Power Pure Sine Wave Inverter w/ Transfer Switch part # 34279458 Have
The Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter w/ Transfer Switch part # 34279458 has one AC input and AC output. The reason the description says 2 AC inputs is because it is referring to the shore power and the inverter power as AC. However, I can see how that description can be misleading. This inverter takes 1 shore power AC input and your DC battery to provide AC power to the fuse panel. The transfer switch will draw power from shore power automatically when the RV is plugged in to...

If you are simply wanting to operate the refrigerator I suggest you consider using the Progressive Dynamics Pure Sine Wave Inverter w/ Transfer Switch - Remote - 1,000 Watts - 12V, # PD1210NR. With this you can create a circuit that our residential refrigerator will operate on when not connected to shore power, it will draw from your onboard battery bank. • Version of Go Power Sine Wave Inverter that has Transfer Switch
The terminals on the Go Power Heavy-Duty Modified Sine Wave Inverter # 34280178 are designed to have a 12 volt power source like a battery attached to and then on the other side of the inverter are standard sockets you'd see for AC power. This does not have a transfer switch like you mentioned that you'd run to a breaker panel/converter. For an inverter that does have a transfer switch we have the # 34279458 which might be what you are looking for to run to a breaker panel.
